Requirements and Responsibilities For Head of Nursing
Oversees all nursing departments in a hospital or a healthcare group. Develops and implements nursing policies, objectives, and initiatives to ensure that patients receive the highest quality care and meet organizational objectives. Monitors nursing operations to ensure compliance with established standards. Requires a master's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to top management. Manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.
